Pet sitting in Sussex

We feel very fortunate to have spent a lot of time pet sitting in Sussex, having completed multiple house sits in this beautiful county over the years. We especially love taking dogs for walkies along the South Downs while we’re in the area. We’ve walked through Devil’s Dyke while pet sitting in Ringmer with Bear, visited the Jack and Jill windmills while pet sitting in Ditchling with Betty and Fred, and admired the panoramic views from Ditchling Beacon, the highest point in Sussex, with Ronnie and Lily.

We’ve enjoyed finding new places to explore too – like discovering Knepp Rewilding Project while petsitting in Thakeham for Rocco, Violet and Raffles. Hattie and Baxter have showed us around Barcombe Mills when we were pet sitting in Wivelsfield Green, and we’ve visited the unusual Ouse Valley Viaduct with Ludo.

We also love having the opportunity to take on pet sitting in Brighton, where the beach is just a stone’s throw away for picturesque sunset walkies. Jem especially loved taking a dip in the sea and chasing his ball along the pebbles! While pet sitting in Hove for Gizmo and Kola, we had fun sampling delights from local dog-friendly cafes throughout our time together. At another pet sit in Hove, Boo the sweet cat kept us company at home and enjoyed prowling around the sun-trap garden.

While pet sitting in Slaugham, we cared for free range chickens who happily pecked around the garden and provided us with delicious eggs each day. In Ditchling, elusive Poppy the cat would spend the days out and about exploring the countryside and suddenly appear just in time for tea, before snuggling up with us on the sofa each evening to happily purr while receiving ear scratches. Over in Lewes, we cared for Spaniel siblings Billie and Nala and the family’s bearded dragon, who loved to munch on blueberries and lay out under his heat lamp.

Ten out of ten

Suze and Chris were delightful. Helped us out of a jam by agreeing last minute to sit Dassa and were so friendly. They took amazing care of Dassa and we felt really comfortable… Especially because Dassa was on a tricky medication at the time. Ten out of ten, hope to see them again!

Very happy dogs

Chris and Suze have been amazing housesitters, looking after our three dogs. It is the first time we have had housesitters and they were perfect! The dogs loved them and we couldn’t have asked for more. It was so good to come home to a well looked after house and very happy dogs.

We got on with them both straight away and felt at ease! The boys had a lovely chilled out time in their own environment whilst we were away and we could tell they were fully looked after. We also were sent some beautiful photos of both our dogs! Would not hesitate in booking you guys in again and already planning our next trip with this in mind! Thank you.

Incredibly responsible and reliable

Suze and Chris were just incredible! So kind and caring and not to mention the gorgeous pics we got of our babies while we were away. Suze and Chris take their full time sitting very seriously and are incredibly responsible and reliable. We would be thrilled to welcome them to our home again some day!

A lifelong bond has been made!

I can’t thank Suze and Chris enough for making our first venture into house sitting such a smooth and easy experience! They are super organised and with their enormous experience in looking after pets and houses we knew we were in safe hands from the moment we had our first video call (recommended by them). We received regular updates, photos and videos which made everything feel so much better for leaving our pets and when we got home Billie and Nala really didn’t know if they should come to us or stay with them, clearly a lifelong bond had been made! The house was spotless when we got home leaving us just to deal with our own unpacking. I highly recommend Chris and Suze especially for those who are on the fence about whether to take the plunge and get house sitters. A great first sit! Thank you so much!

We would be delighted to have them back

Suze and Chris were perfect housesitters, and we would be delighted to have them back again. Our dog Ludo was very well looked after and the house was left in perfect order. Happy, contented pets

Suze and Chris looked after our dog and cat, and we returned to happy, contented pets and a clean and tidy house! Our dog can be anxious and fearful of new people but he took to both of them straight away. They kept us updated with messages and photos and we were able to completely relax knowing our two were happy and safe. We would definitely use Chris and Suze again, they are fabulous people who genuinely care about doing a great job.

Friendly personalities

This was only the second time we have left our dog with anyone other than family. We have left her only once overnight with a local dog sitter and we weren’t entirely sure she liked the experience. This time it was so great to do FaceTime with Suze and Chris and get to chat with them before the sit. We had no idea how she would settle but we felt fairly confident that Suze and Chris’ many years experience, coupled with their lovely friendly personalities, that Mila would be fine. Suze sent several update messages and photos which put our minds at rest and it was so lovely she ended up wanting to sleep in the room where they were! You definitely have a new fan club member Suze and Chris! Thank you so much for making the stay away for us so much easier.

Highly recommend

Absolutely amazing people, our dogs and cats were looked after so well and had no change to their normal routine. Our house was left cleaner than when Chris and Suze arrived too. We got plenty of updates and lots of lovely photos too. We would highly recommend and will be using them again!!

The loveliest couple

We have landed on our feet and paws finding Chris and Suze. They really are the loveliest couple and know when we go away that our dogs and cat, and home, are in safe hands. Our pets adore them and Chris and Suze clearly love them. We would recommend anyone to have Chris and Suze to house sit though we’d prefer to keep them a guarded secret so that we get first dibs on dates!

The best sitters we have had

Suze and Chris have looked after our dog Jem, a Saluki-X, and our home three times. They are the best sitters we have had, and we have had quite a few over the years. Jem clearly loves being cared for by Suze and Chris as the second time they came he was so excited to see them again and for a while after they leave seems to miss them. They handle him very well and give him lots of time and attention, sending us pictures of all the fun times they have together! Chris and Suze are easy to communicate with and are very organised. They look after the house very well and on each occasion have left the house tidy with all washing done! We would not hesitate to recommend them and will certainly use them again.
