Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have a question for us?
We are more than happy to answer any questions you may have about our house and pet sitting services. Below are a few of our frequently asked questions, though for specific enquiries we recommend getting in touch with us directly so we can fully understand your needs. Every house and pet sit is different, and we enjoy providing a personal experience for every client!
The easiest way to find out what we can do for you is to fill out our enquiry form – let us know a little about your home, any pets, and the dates you will need us and we’ll go from there!
Our house sitting rates start at £60/day. This includes us staying in your home during the day and overnight while you’re away, ensuring your property is secure and maintained, and also includes small daily tasks.
We do not have set rates for pet sitting as each situation is different! Our rates are dependent on the responsibilities you would like us to carry out while on the sit, therefore we ask that you provide us with as much information as possible when contacting us for a quote! This ensures that we give you an accurate price for the sit.
We have a multitude of experience caring for reactive and anxious pets, and are comfortable with committing to these responsibilities provided that we are given this information upfront. When we arrive at a house sit, we let pets come to us and don’t rush them into trusting us – we follow your guidelines for how best to approach and care for them.
We will always make sure we have all the information we need to give your pets the best care before we arrive, and are happy to arrange phone calls or video calls to discuss details. If you have any specific concerns, feel free to contact us and we’ll discuss how best we can cater for your pets’ needs!
As part of our process, we always arrange a video call or phone call before every booking we confirm so you can ask us any questions you might have, and we can get to know you and understand your pets’ needs. It’s not always possible to meet you and your pets in person before we arrive for a house sit, as our pet sitting business takes us all over the UK. We are sometimes able to meet before a house sit, but this is dependent on where we are in the country for other house sits, and will always be after the booking has been confirmed.
Depending on your travel plans, we like to have an in-person handover on the first day of a house sit so we can meet face-to-face before you leave.
You can find more information about the kind of responsibilities that are included when you book us as your house sitters on our house sitting information page – though most of the time we can complete extra responsibilities when outlined upfront! For responsibilities that aren’t listed on our website, get in touch with us and we’d be more than happy to talk through your needs!
Over our years of full time house sitting, we have cared for a wide variety of animals and we enjoy expanding that list and getting to learn more about new animals! Here’s a list of some of the animals we’ve looked after over the years (If you have unusual pets that aren’t listed here, get in touch to enquire about our pet sitting services tailored to your needs) Dogs, cats, fish, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, degus, chickens, parrots, cockatiels, quails, ducks, geese, guinea fowl, peacocks, doves, cows, pigs, goats, sheep, alpacas, donkeys, horses, ponies, bearded dragons, lizards, geckos, snakes, tortoises and snails.
We have been house and pet sitting full time since January 2018, completing over 150 house sits and caring for over 250 happy pets! For more information, head to our about us page or read more about our experience on our why choose us page.
We get from sit to sit in our own VW campervan, which is our home between house sits. We always make this clear to home owners in the initial conversation stage of our process as we need to ensure there is space for us to park our van at your home. Arranging house sits almost completely back to back full time takes a lot of organisation and preparation – two qualities that we pride ourselves on being proficient in.
Pet sitting is our full time job! We are very proud to have built our business together from scratch and we run everything to do with our business between just the two of us. Whether it’s responding to enquiries, sending invoices, updating our website, marketing, organising house sits or carrying out house sit responsibilities, everything is done by us and we pride ourselves on being efficient and professional in our job.
In down time between house sits (or when dogs are snoozing at our feet) we spend time writing articles about house sitting and travel for our blog, where you can read more about our adventures, tips and pet-friendly recommendations.
