Pet sitting in Lewes
We love when we’re invited to house sit in Lewes as it’s the best of both worlds – the luxuries and ease of town living with beautiful spots for picturesque walkies right on our doorstep. We’ve completed two house sits that were both just a short walk from the centre of town, which meant we could walk the dogs along the River Ouse into Lewes or drive a short distance onto the South Downs to get out in the countryside.
We enjoyed a short sit caring for Cockapoo siblings Billie and Nala with the family’s two cats, plus a bearded dragon who loved to munch on blueberries and lay out under his heat lamp. We spent our week together enjoying lots of fluffy cuddles at home after Billie and Nala tired themselves out zooming around the fields on our walkies!

Just across the river, while pet sitting Spinone Ludo, we had to be mindful of bird scarers and any sudden noises out on our walkies as he suffered from anxiety and aversion to loud sounds. We would always stay alert on our walks, and rotate our routes daily to ensure Ludo was still enjoying a good mix of environments to walk in.
We especially loved walking him along the South Downs to Firle Beacon, where he could run freely along the paths with picturesque views all around. We’d also take him to Abbot’s Wood for woodland walkies where he loved to snuffle through the trees and never strayed far from our sides.
At home Ludo loved to play with his toys or lie across our laps for a cuddle – he had no idea of his large size! We’re glad to say he settled with us so well that we’ve since been back for more stays with Ludo.
